Art Farnsworth Trial Resumes Monday

A reminder to you all that my tax evasion trial starts (again!) this upcoming Monday, December 4th. Proceedings start at 10:00 a.m., in courtroom 17B. We have to go through the jury selection process again, so unless we have some early excitement like last time, the testimony part probably will not start until Tuesday. I plan to return home by train each evening, but since I will no doubt be spending some time with the attorneys at the end of each day, I do not know by what time I will be home.

One in every 32 U.S. adults behind bars, on probation or on parole in 2005

Updated: 5:13 a.m. CT Nov 30, 2006

WASHINGTON - A record 7 million people -- or one in every 32 American adults -- were behind bars, on probation or on parole by the end of last year, according to the Justice Department.

Of those, 2,193,798 were in prison or jail, an increase of 2.7 percent over the previous year.

Even though data show more prison releases, the report said, admissions still exceed releases. More than 4.1 million people were on probation and 784,208 were on parole at the end of 2005.

What makes some people more powerful than other people?

Consider the teacher, the doctor, and the politician. Their instructions are normally obeyed by their followers, who rarely question their judgment. Is there a common factor shared by teachers, doctors, and politicians – such as “wealth” or “connections” (the classic popular indicators of “power”)? Not exactly, when you consider that teachers and doctors can earn their power through diligent study and other merits. So then, is there a common factor shared by all powerful people? My answer would be…yes, but not wealth, and not connections. The true source of power is knowledge; and, in the particular case of our contemporary political leaders, the abuse of knowledge.

The study of 9-11 is nothing less than a golden key to human liberation. Liberation means freedom; and freedom includes both the right, and the responsibility, to make personal and community decisions. Are we ready for that? In my opinion, we are almost ready, but not quite. First, we need to say “yes,” and energetically continue our efforts to spread the liberating truth about the 9-11 events. By distributing power to the people, we will reduce the power of the elite classes, laying the foundation for a wholesale power-shift, when the knowledgeable population reaches a critical mass. At that point, we shall be obliged to replace the deceptive and manipulative institutions which have previously guided our existence. While we deserve to celebrate our new-found power with joy and relief, we should also prepare ourselves for our new responsibilities as a self-governing community.

Chicago AFTF Supporter Shines Light of Truth On Corruption

Bill Walls was THE first individual in Chicago politics to see and support Aaron Russo's movie. Bill stood up at three of the original Chicago premiers of AFTF during late July-early August 2006. Aaron wants Bill to become the next Mayor of Chicago. Towards that end, Aaron has allowed Bill to screen Aaron's movie throughout Chicago to raise financial support for Bill's campaign. But William "Dock" Walls, the other declared candidate for mayor, has come along this week and for the first time put a name on this concept.

I kind of like that.

I've always marveled at our corruption allowance. I just didn't know what to call it.

Now that it has a name, my mind is racing to consider the possible corollaries: Does a politician's corruption allowance increase the longer he is in office or is it a one-shot allotment with a cumulative drawdown? Can they replenish their allowance by performing certain chores, such as planting trees and flowers? Are white politicians given a bigger allowance than black politicians, or is the opposite true?

In violation of his oath of office, Bush used signing statements to negate laws passed by Congress, not with a veto, but with his personal opinion. Bush, thus, elevated himself above the rule of law that has protected America from becoming a tyranny and made a mockery of the separation of powers that are a foundation of American liberty.

Snipes co-defendant stays in jail

Ocala -- One of Wesley Snipes' co-defendants in a tax-fraud case agreed Wednesday to be jailed without bail while a federal judge entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf.

U.S. Magistrate Gary Jones agreed to hold Kahn indefinitely because Kahn did not request a detention hearing and the government initially argued he is a flight risk. Jones also set March for the trial.

An AFTF DVD of the full movie is being overnighted to Linda so it can be shown in one of the biggest flea markets in the country this weekend in Bonner (sp?) Texas. Linda and her group - along with their BIG "road warrior" bus/trailer - said they were recently emcamped in Crawford TX to protest NAIS - ie. the proposed act that will require the chipping of all farm animals nationwide. While in Crawford Linda said she personally handed an AFTF PromoDVD to President Bush. Right before the President could take the DVD a US Secret Service agent swooped into take the DVD away from him/her.



And, according to Linda, she next day one of the members of President Bush's Secret Service details came up to Linda and her group and said that President Bush viewed part of the DVD and his comment was that "he was not happy about it."

Agreement will likely see Snipes surrender to federal authorities when he next returns to the U.S. In return for agreeing to a payment plan, Snipes will not be jailed and will be allowed both to continue working and to travel abroad.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- One of two men indicted with actor Wesley Snipes on eight counts of tax fraud charges was scheduled to appear in a Florida federal court Wednesday, federal authorities said.

Eddie Ray Kahn was detained in Panama on Tuesday and flown back to Florida.

Bush Moves Toward Martial Law



San Fransico INDY Media reports:

In a stealth maneuver, President Bush has signed into law a provision which, according to Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont), will actually encourage the President to declare federal martial law (1). It does so by revising the Insurrection Act, a set of laws that limits the President's ability to deploy troops within the United States. The Insurrection Act (10 U.S.C.331 -335) has historically, along with the Posse Comitatus Act (18 U.S.C.1385), helped to enforce strict prohibitions on military involvement in domestic law enforcement. With one cloaked swipe of his pen, Bush is seeking to undo those prohibitions.

In other words, the law facilitates the "transfer" of the newest in so-called "crowd control" technology and other weaponry designed to suppress dissent from the Pentagon to local militarized police units. The new law builds on and further codifies earlier "technology transfer" agreements, specifically the 1995 DOD-Justice Department memorandum of agreement achieved back during the Clinton-Reno regime.(4)

It has become clear in recent months that a critical mass of the American people have seen through the lies of the Bush administration; with the president's polls at an historic low, growing resistance to the war Iraq, and the Democrats likely to take back the Congress in mid-term elections, the Bush administration is on the ropes. And so it is particularly worrying that President Bush has seen fit, at this juncture to, in effect, declare himself dictator.
