Wesley Snipes Released On Bond
OCALA -- After a court appearance this morning, Wesley Snipes, the Hollywood action star, is free on bail, and will be allowed to go back to Namibia to finish filming a motion picture, but must return by Jan. 10 to face the charges against him.
Snipes, a Jones High School graduate and former Isleworth resident, was indicted before a federal grand jury in Tampa on October 17 on charges of conspiracy to defraud the IRS and submitting false estimated-tax payments worth $14 million. His associates, tax preparer Douglas Rosile and tax-shelter promoter Eddie Ray Kahn, were also charged.
